I purchased a 2001 KTM mini adventure a while back (non-running) and I'm determined to get this thing running properly. It has the S5-E motor with the two-shoe clutch. It appears the clutch is not engaging correctly so I'd like to find out if anyone has information on A) possible adjustments, B) specs on spring and clutch show wear. If I need to replace parts, how can I tell what needs to be replaced?
Thanks,

Hi
the S5-E Engine is the "Smalest" from the S5 Engines. the only Thing you can "adjust" by the clutch is to chanche the Springs. you will get "normal" and "hard" springs. With hte hard ones the clutch will "turn on " by higher RPM. if the surface of the shoes are "shiny" the surface are unusable.
you will get the 2-shoe-clutch mostly on ebay or by a KTM-Parts Dealer. search by google an d entering "KTM sx50 clutch" or "Morini s5 clutch"

I also have S5-E Morini Engine, the carburetor is going into the cylinder. So if I lift the back tire off the ground and give it gas the bike rips you would think the bike would be really fast. As soon as I put it back on the ground give it gas bike has no power. It has the 2 shoe clutch I replaced it still no luck..any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Mine had exact fault, found it to be head bolts loose and losing compression when under load, the problem I have now with my s5e is that the clutch case has developed a hole from something pushing outwards. I saw this on one on eBay too, anyone have any idea of cause before I strip it down? Regards Ray

Hi, I purchased the Morini Franco S5 clutch spring set - Light Spring Tension (for lower RPM Engagement) on my kid's KTM 50. My question is do I need a clutch puller to remove the stock springs and replace with the lighter ones?? Any guidance or step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated!!

hey guys, we have standard 2-shoe and performance 3-shoe clutch assembly back in stock, with or without clutch basket. We been out of stock for a long time but now they are both available. I thought I would post this news because I know a lot of people were waiting on them to be ready.
