I recently purchased an s6c engine, and have been having trouble keeping it running. When I first fired it up before I put an exhaust on it ran great. Didnt ride it, just wanted to hear it run. Once I put on the exhaust I found that the bike would run great for about half a mile and then shut down. I have been having this problem over and over. First, I would be able to start it right up after letting it sit for about a minute after stalling. Today it ran great for about 10 miles. Then all of a sudden it backfired and shut down. I unplugged all the external ignition devices and inspected the connections, and looked at the magneto. The engine is brand new so everything looks good. After plugging everything back in the engine started and idled , but when I gave it throttle it backfired again and now refuses to start period. One error I made: my fuel oil ratio was 20 to one, but I learned that it is only supposed to be 2%. I noticed burnt oil on the end of my tail pipe. Took off the sparkplug, cleaned it, and checked for spark. Nothing. Checked for spark with a new plug. Nothing. Could I have burned out my coil or digital timing box by using a higher concentration of oil? I am considering buying the new ignition assembly, but if anyone has any ideas or directions I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks!
