New to the ktm world I just bought a 99 50sxr pro senior. Guy said he replaced the clutch shoes but not the drum an that when he put it back together they would not grab. I'm curious to see if he used the wrong clutches because after searching around on mxmoto.com I saw that s6 motors had the three shoe clutch. Now he had the old one in the box as well and it too was the three shoe. Now I'm lost when it comes to ktms I was a Honda guy forever and this seemed like a good deal so I picked it up. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I would stick with a Honda if I were you. A shifter at that. These auto shifters are high maintenance and a pain in the rear.

hi
there are two models of the 2-shoe clutch. One model has no gearing in the central hohle, and the other have gearing on the central hohle. and i know for the s5 engines you can get a conerting kit to use the 3-shoe clutch on th eolder bike, maybe its possible to convert the 3-shoe clutch by a 2-shoe clutch ...... ;-(
if the drum are ok (no cracks or bulge, and when the drum are round and the bearing sleeve are ok) the you can let the drum inside.
but i'm think the dru from the 2-shoe clutch are different from the 3-shoe.
PS (sorry for my english, i hope you will understand it)
