Firstly, Hi! Recently purchased a little motocross bike for my son, but I'm having issues starting it! The spark is weak and very intermittent. The ignition setup looks different to other S5's Ive seen. Was going to look at replacing the CDI first as its a straight forward job, but if I do have to replace the stator should I replace for the type with the all in one stator and coil Also, the yellow wire isnt connected to anything, any ideas what it should be connected to!

Hy
so this ignition looks like a ignition of the little bikes they have also lights and so.... i think the yellow cable is for the light. The Black is the kill-switch, the red/brown (is not so clear on the picture) are the ground and the green cames from the coil under the flywheel.
maybe the magnets in the flawheel are no more "strong" enough, the timing is bad, the sparkplug is bad/damage or dirty. in my opinion change this ignition with the original small ignition.... this ignition is for "hobby-use" adequate....
for racing use i prefer PVL-ignition.
regards
Dan
